You've been gifted

I made this necklace a little while back and it's just been sitting on my work desk collecting dust. I've actually made a bunch of stuff and all of it has just been collecting dust, and, really, it makes me a little sad. What do I do with all these half-decent projects? Throw them out? Give them as bday gifts? Perhaps they'll just collect more dust. So when my dear friend (she actually recently started blogging, so stop by and say hi!) said she had been searching for a necklace just like it, I said, "Take it!!"

So today I wrapped the necklace up. I found a box and re-used some grocery paper bags as wrapping and then topped it all off with a grosgrain ribbon bow.

And this all made me ultra happy. So I've decided this:

I will start posting projects I've been working on / finished that I'd like to just give away. It can range anywhere from headbands, garments, accessories, whatever my hands are making at the moment. It'll be a learning experience for me and a reader may even like it enough to wear it! Win-win. Far far better than letting stuff I make collect dust.

So how will you decide who gets the posted item?
After I post an item, I may throw out a song lyric or a book quote to be identified, a question to be answered, or something like "the most creative comment gets the dress." It will vary with each post, but it's meant to encourage creative thinking and for some good laughs. I don't care if only 2 people respond, I'll just pick the response I enjoyed the most.

Wait, how am I going to get the item?
I'll completely cover shipping unless it's international shipping. I'm really too broke to cover that. If it's international, then I'll discuss a solution with you (maybe splitting cost 50/50?)

Alright, that's about all I can think of off the top of my head.

Design for all. xx.

Outfit: Burgundy lace

Attempting to brighten up a gloomy day here in the city with a rich burgundy vintage lace dress (note the pretty puffed sleeves!). Here, I've paired the dress with some platform pumps, tights, a vintage belt tied in a knot, and a bowler hat.

There will probably be a slowing down of postings for the next 2 weeks. I will post small entries here and there, but nothing too ambitious like DIYs on how to create a miniature Eiffel Tower for your living room out of bubblegum wrappers. Anyway, I temporarily leave you with this outfit post and will be back before you even know it!

Fringe for your pins

After seeing many iterations of fringe leggings online, in stores, on people, I've been wanting to make myself a pair, except I'm not a big fan of leggings, so I decided to purchase some fringe and sew it onto some opaque black tights instead.

I'm thinking of trying this with different colour tights and contrasting it with funky coloured fringe (like mustard yellow tights and white fringe, gray tights with white fringe, so on and so on).

Anyway, these are ultra comfy and I've never had so much swooshing around whilst walking. Swoosh swoosh swoosh!

Bipolar type

Bear with me as I make up my mind whether to use Sans or Serif. I think I'm going back to Sans. The minimalism and readability of Sans is a plus. On the other hand, I like how classy Serif is. Perhaps I'm typographically bipolar.

Judging from the difficulty I'm having making up my mind regarding the type, it's a wonder I'm even able to get dressed in the morning without having a brawl with myself.

Probably some slight changes to the look of the blog too. If type and web design isn't all too interesting to you, then please move along. I'm just rambling anyway. *whistles..*

On concrete

Spring makes me break out in hives, but it doesn't make Spring any less pretty to me.

Also, apologies for the lack of posts this week. My desk is cluttered with projects and my walls filled with pictures and ideas. Now, I just need to find the time!

Lastly, I'm making a few rhinestone necklaces for friends and fellow bloggers. I barely wear any of the stuff I make and I don't want any of it to collect dust, so I have a handful of lovely ladies in mind to send out little packages to. Keep your eyes peeled :o)

Morning mist

T-shirt: Kate Moss for Topshop Cardigan: Club Monaco Skinny jeans: BDG Oxfords: vintage Etienne Aigner Faux fur collar: vintage

I pass by this church nearly every day since it's a few steps from where I live. It's massive, gorgeous, and haunting. Today, I finally climbed its steps and snapped a quick photo in front of it. The rain hadn't dried yet and the lighting was quite magical.

Wearing nothing too special today . . . just the usual city frolicking outfit consisting of oxfords, skinny jeans, a cardigan and tee. My bf and I then proceeded to eat the heartiest breakfast ever at a diner where people at the tables on either side of us were popping pills and sharing them amongst each other. White ones, pink ones, oval ones, triangle ones. It was nice.
